Essentra is looking for a full-time

Regional Sales Manager (Access Hardware) in the Chicago area

who will be responsible for providing "hands‑on" and immediate business to business sales between manufacturing representatives, Direct Sales Representatives, and customers within a defined territory to achieve pre-established sales objectives and margin targets set by Executive Management. This position will focus on our access hardware product line and requires experience selling industrial products. Please note that this is an individual contributor role that does not supervise others. The Regional Sales Manager will meet with customers in person to identify their needs and close sales deals. The main duties include traveling within the assigned territory to meet with potential and current customers, negotiating sales contracts and advising clients about new products, updates, and features. Additional duties include updating a sales forecast and managing customer visits and pipeline opportunities through the Essentra CRM. This is a hybrid role and will include up to 60% travel, with the opportunity to work remotely when not traveling. Typical Accountabilities:

Representative administration - daily communications, technical support, and action logs. Customer support - present proposals, technical product support, samples, quotes and resolving issues that may arise. Territory support - trips with representatives for training, support, and direction. Responsible for ensuring the assigned territory meets strategic and sales targets set by the region. Maximize profitability at the account level. Provide the proper level of communication to Commercial Manager through monthly reporting, emails, phone, etc. as required to manage the territory. Conduct proper sales analysis to determine strengths and weaknesses within the territory. Provide strategic direction and leadership based on sales analysis for the territory. Project management duties as required for sampling, quoting and new product development. Quote custom parts, tooling, and standard parts within acceptable profit margins. Evaluate incoming opportunity and quote for feasibility. Field commercial and technical questions posed by customers and internal support functions within the Company. Develop project plans, coordinate projects, and communicate changes and progress. Participate in weekly meetings as well as cross functional management meetings. Manage all customer communication (opportunities, visit reports, pipeline) via the Essentra CRM. Participate in potential trade shows that fit the product category. Perform related job duties as assigned. Qualifications:

At least 2 years of outside sales experience with industrial products, preferably access hardware products (industrial locks, latches, etc.) Bachelor's degree in engineering business, marketing, or similar field is a plus but not required Willingness to travel up to 50%-60% of the time, including overnight travel via airplane. Travel will typically 2 weeks per month, based on customer needs. Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Essentra CRM) and Microsoft Office. Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand complex manufacturing processes. Excellent negotiating, interpersonal, and organizational skills as well as strong written and oral communication skills. Outgoing personality with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organization. Highly motivated, persuasive, and dedicated to achieving results. Ability to manage frustration and perform effectively in a fast‑paced environment. Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex or diverse information. Detail‑oriented with excellent problem‑solving capabilities. Professional and diplomatic approach to managing difficult or emotional customer interactions. Strong prioritization skills and business acumen. Strategic thinker and collaborative team player. What We Offer:

This is a salaried position and offers a full benefits package with generous paid time off. The expected base salary range for thisrole is

$80,000-$90,000 plus a quarterly bonus target.

The actual base salary offered will be dependent on the skills, experience and overall qualifications of the individual we hire for the position.
