About The Role Summary: The Solutions Developer Lead is a member of the Information Technology, Glacier Solutions Development (GSD) team. This position will report to the GSD Development Manager and is responsible for leading the technical implementation of strategic projects to enhance the bank’s commercial lending services platforms and applications. The role focuses on banking system management/development and leads the solution delivery for the commercial lending platform, currently nCino. The Lead Developer will work closely with Product and Channel Managers, Solutions Architects, support teams, and technology colleagues to translate business requirements and architectural design into technical specifications.
The Lead Developer will additionally evaluate team capacity, manage delivery timelines, submit change requests, monitor vendor ticketing updates, and oversee the most challenging development items. Technical oversight involves ensuring software quality standards are met and providing guidance to the team, including addressing technical issues and opportunities for improvement. Strong problem‑solving and communication skills are essential.
Description
Plan and coordinate the implementation of enhancements to the commercial lending platforms (nCino).
Participate in discovery and refinement to advise on technical feasibility of proposed solutions.
Own all technical aspects: custom code, configuration, development, IT change management, information security, vendor communication, and migration planning.
Support junior developers through guidance, code reviews, and training.
Break down project work into tasks, assign to team members based on skill and availability.
Review releases, tasks, code, and requirements to ensure quality and best practice adherence.
Independently complete complex, business‑critical technical development tasks.
Deliver detailed effort estimates and articulate benefits and risks of proposed solutions.
Act as decision maker when technical opinions differ among the development team.
Help product owner incorporate technical debt into the product backlog and participate in agile ceremonies (sprint reviews, demos).
Provide advanced troubleshooting and serve as escalation point for junior developers and Business Application Administrators.
Keep abreast of vendor product releases and technical enhancements.
Comply with all company policies, Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control, and complete required training courses.
About You
Experience with banking systems development, including nCino and commercial lending processes.
Proven continuous improvement mindset and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to lead a technical team, mentor junior staff, and manage project delivery.
Knowledge of best practices in software development, quality assurance, and security.
Familiarity with agile development practices and backlog management.
What We Offer Starting salary
is dependent upon relevant experience and location. For Washington applicants only, the annual range is $127,612.84 to $191,419.26. The entry rate for the position is $117,159.12 per year (Calibrated for Kalispell, MT).
The compensation package includes a competitive salary, health, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage; a retirement savings plan with 401(k) and profit‑sharing options; short and long‑term disability benefits; education and training benefits; and discounts on banking products and services. Employees receive paid time off, which accrues at .0745 per hour worked for part‑time employees up to a maximum of 240 hours per year for eligible full‑time employees. Most full‑time employees are offered six paid holidays, and part‑time employees receive pro‑rated paid holidays.
