Akkodis is seeking an UX Designer for a Contract with a client in Sunnyvale, CA. The ideal candidates have experience designing SAS‑based platforms is critical for this role, and lead UX for SAS analytical workflows while simplifying complex tasks like model lifecycle management and job execution.
Rate Range: $53/hour to $58/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

UX Designer Job Responsibilities

  • Lead UX design for SAS‑based analytics workflows, including data access, preparation, model lifecycle management, and both batch and interactive execution patterns.
  • Translate complex SAS concepts—such as libraries, datasets, procs, caslibs, jobs, and scoring code—into intuitive, user‑centered interactions.
  • Design task‑driven UX for configuring SAS jobs and pipelines, managing parameters, compute resources, execution context, and monitoring job status and logs.
  • Optimize usability for expert SAS users by clearly surfacing system state, execution progress, dependencies, failures, and long‑running job behavior.
  • Create scalable experiences that work across web interfaces, APIs, hybrid workflows, and enterprise environments.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, statisticians, engineers, and product teams to simplify complex SAS workflows while maintaining accuracy, transparency, and system integrity.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human‑Computer Interaction (HCI), UX Design, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, or a related design/technical field.
  • 7+ years of professional UX/Product Design experience, preferably in enterprise or data/analytics platforms.
  • Direct, hands‑on experience designing SAS products or SAS‑centric platforms (such as Viya, Studio, Model Manager, Visual Analytics), with strong understanding of SAS workflows, execution models, and model governance.
  • Demonstrated ability to design complex, workflow‑driven UX for expert users—translating concepts (libraries, datasets, procs, caslibs, jobs, scoring code) into intuitive, scalable, user‑centered experiences.
