Full-time | Early-stage, VC-backed startup | Remote/Hybrid About the role We are an early-stage, VC-backed startup building an AI-powered financial management platform for US small businesses. We’re looking for a Founding Accounting Delivery Lead to become our first domain expert and own the core delivery function behind our customer experience. This is a hands-on, high-impact role at the intersection of accounting operations, service delivery, and product building . You will design how we deliver world-class bookkeeping and financial outcomes — and help shape the product that scales it. What you’ll do Own end-to-end accounting delivery for US SMB customers (monthly close, reconciliations, reporting) Build and improve scalable delivery infrastructure (SOPs, checklists, QA, SLAs) Lead and manage a team of freelance bookkeepers (workflow, reviews, quality, coaching) Partner with Product & Engineering to translate accounting workflows into product requirements and automation Ensure outputs are accurate, compliant, and customer-ready Serve as the go-to domain expert for real-world SMB accounting edge cases Requirements:
Who you are 5+ years of hands-on experience in US small business accounting / bookkeeping operations Deep expertise with QuickBooks Online (required); experience with Xero is a plus Strong operational mindset — you know how to build repeatable, scalable processes Experience managing and reviewing work from bookkeepers or contractors Comfortable working with imperfect inputs (bank feeds, messy transactions, unclear receipts) Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with product/engineering Self-starter who thrives in early-stage environments and enjoys building from scratch Nice to have CPA license (or equivalent strong credentials) Experience in modern bookkeeping/accounting firms (e.g., Pilot, Bench, inDinero) or fractional CFO services Familiarity with payroll accounting (Gusto), AP/AR tooling (Bill.com), payments (Stripe), ecommerce stacks (Shopify/Square) Exposure to 1099 processes, sales tax basics, and SMB operational finance Founding role with real ownership and influence on the company’s core product and delivery engine Work directly with an experienced entrepreneurial team and top-tier investors Help shape the future of AI-driven finance for millions of small businesses The expected base salary for this role is
110-115K$ OTE . This is a good-faith estimate but does not include equity or other forms of compensation. Pay will be based on experience level, but those outside the salary band are welcome to apply. This compensation reflects a full-time engagement: scope and compensation will be adjusted proportionally for part-time arrangements.
