Job Title: Student Assistant for Cyber Director. Location: Columbus State University. Regular/Temporary: Temporary. Full/Part Time: Part-Time. Job ID: 290019. Job Summary: The Cyber Director Student Assistant provides administrative and event support for the TSYS Cybersecurity Center under the guidance of the Cyber Director. This role is designed for a current student who is organized, detail-oriented, and interested in gaining experience in professional communication, event planning, and cybersecurity center operations.
Responsibilities
Administrative Support
Monitor shared inboxes and forward important messages to the Cyber Director.
Assist with scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and maintaining calendars.
Help with travel arrangements, reimbursements, and basic recordkeeping.
Event & Program Support
Assist with planning and running Cybersecurity Center events (info sessions, competitions, mock interviews, guest speakers).
Coordinate logistics including space reservations, setup, takedown, and promotional materials.
Support pop-up events and Cyber Range tours.
Communications & Outreach
Draft and distribute flyers, digital signage, and announcements using approved templates.
Update SharePoint, websites, and event calendars.
Assist with thank-you letters and communications to partners, donors, and scholarship recipients.
Operational Assistance
Track attendance or participation in events and student usage of Cybersecurity Center resources.
Assist with organizing files, inventories, and documentation.
Provide basic tech support and help document processes under supervision.
Other Duties
Serve as a point of contact for student organizations connected to the Cybersecurity Center.
Provide general support to the Cyber Director and staff as needed.
Required Qualifications
Current CSU student in good academic standing.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Reliable, proactive, and professional.
Able to manage multiple tasks and work independently with guidance.
Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends for special events.
Preferred Qualifications
Interest in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related fields.
Experience with Microsoft Office, Canva/Adobe Express, or event support.
Customer service, tutoring, or student organization experience.
Salary This position is an hourly position paying $15 per hour. This position works up to 19 hours per week but could be less dependent on office needs.
Work Schedule The Academic Operation Coordinator, Jennifer Stone, will create a schedule based on the student\'s class schedule. The schedule will be set for the semester, and no changes will be made once it is set.
