Summary/Objective As a Pro Cheer League Coach, you’ll play a key lead role in the launch of a first‑of‑its‑kind professional cheer league. Combining elite coaching, safety‑first expertise, and a passion for performance, you’ll be instrumental in training and developing top‑tier athletes to perform on a national stage. This position calls for energy, organization, and a team‑first mindset in a high‑visibility, high‑performance environment.

Job Responsibilities

Coach elite athletes in high‑performance cheer: stunts, pyramids, baskets, tumbling, and conditioning.

Run structured practices focused on strength, skill development, and routine consistency.

Design, teach, and clean show‑stopping routines along with Team Managers.

Ensure safety protocols are strictly followed, in line with Varsity Spirit’s standards.

Mentor and motivate athletes with professionalism, discipline, and encouragement.

Serve as a brand leader at practices, league events, media appearances, and community activations.

Support game‑day execution: warm‑ups, formations, timing, and backstage coordination.

Foster a positive, coachable, and growth‑oriented team culture.

Collaborate with league management, media teams, and sponsors to enhance event execution and athlete visibility.

Maintain a calm, prepared, and professional presence at all times.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Experience coaching cheer at the high school, collegiate level.

Strong technical knowledge in stunting, tumbling, choreography, and spotting.

Ability to lead and communicate effectively with high‑performance athletes and staff.

Comfortable in public‑facing roles, including media and sponsor‑facing responsibilities.

Organized, dependable, and efficient under pressure.

Excellent judgment and awareness in identifying risks and enforcing safety measures.

Must be at least 18 years old.

Must be travel‑ready and committed to full‑season participation.

Education, Certification And Experience High school diploma or GED preferred; advanced certification or college degree preferred.

Certification in safety and cheer coaching (e.g., USA Cheer, Varsity Spirit) strongly preferred.

Experience in mentorship, athletic development, or team management.

Travel & Physical Requirements Pro Cheer League Coaches must be prepared to travel regularly, especially on weekends and for multi‑day trips. Must maintain the physical stamina required to demonstrate technique and support athlete conditioning. Coaches should be comfortable operating in high‑energy, high‑pressure environments including games, media events, and live performances.
