Outside Sales
The Outside Salesperson represents CED to potential new and existing customers. The focus for this position is to develop relationships with those customers in order to maintain and increase sales. Reports to: Sales Manager Minimum Qualifications
Extensive, demonstrable knowledge of electrical products and their functions Minimum 3 years sales experience Ability to travel and make sales calls at customer locations Ability to comprehend, read, and communicate in English both orally and in writing Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets CED required standards Math skills including calculating percentages, decimals, and discount multipliers Preferred Qualifications
Industry Knowledge + Working knowledge of electrical products and systems, including: Lighting & controls Industrial / MRO / automation Ability to understand job specs, take-offs, and basic project timelines Sales & Customer Skills + Strong relationship-building skills with contractors and end users Comfortable prospecting new accounts and growing existing ones Ability to communicate pricing, lead times, and value propositions clearly Technical & Administrative Skills + Comfortable using: Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and basic CRM tools Able to manage quotes, follow-ups, and project details accurately Self-Management + Highly organized and self-motivated Able to work independently while collaborating with inside sales, purchasing, and warehouse teams Strong time management and prioritization skills Working Conditions: Conditions vary based on the customer location and may include construction, warehouse, manufacturing, office, or external environments. Some activities may include walking, standing, climbing in various conditions including extreme heat or cold. Essential functions will require travel to customer locations.
