
Develop, coordinate, and oversee the implementation and execution of security policies and procedures. Safeguard equipment, software, and information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure.
Responsibilities
- Develops, publishes, educates, and maintains comprehensive enterprise-wide information security strategy, plans, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Leads and facilitates an information security steering committee and maintain a security dashboard to provide an information security and cyber threat overview.
- Provides strategic risk guidance for IT projects and initiatives, including the evaluation and recommendation of technical controls.
- Recruits, mentors, develops, and retains a staff of information security technology professionals.
- Leads information security team, including providing work direction and decision making, planning, and budgeting as well as activities to increase the awareness of information security.
- Ensures that security programs are in-compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies to minimize or eliminate risk.
- Supervises/manages a department and has authority over hiring/termination/performance decisions.
- Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office setting.
- Work may require travel, including overnight stays.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and fifteen (15) years of information security or other cross-functional IT leadership experience in a mid- to large-sized environment.
- Master’s degree in information security, or other related field, preferred.
- Information security and/or other industry related certifications (CISSP,CISM, CISA, CEH, MCSA, MCSE, CCNP, CCIE, etc.) preferred.
- Experience designing security architectures for new applications and for vendor product integration.
- Advanced knowledge of enterprise-wide multi-platform operating system security, network security, application security, database security, regulatory compliance, risk management, etc.
- Advanced leadership skills including excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Excellent critical thinking skills including the ability to think outside of the box.
- Ability to flex styles to work well with a range of personalities from extremely technical team members to non-technical business leaders.
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced often-stressful environment.
