The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales and marketing initiatives to maximize revenue, market share, and brand awareness. This role leads all sales efforts across transient, group, corporate, SMERF, and catering segments while aligning with brand standards and ownership goals.
Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales and marketing plan to achieve budgeted revenue goals.
- Drive room, banquet, catering, and outlet revenue through proactive sales initiatives.
- Identify new business opportunities while maintaining and growing existing accounts.
- Lead negotiations, contract execution, and follow-up for group and corporate accounts.
- Monitor pace, pickup, LNR production, and market trends; adjust strategies accordingly.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and departmental goals.
- Conduct regular sales meetings, training, and performance reviews.
- Set clear expectations, KPIs, and accountability standards.
Marketing & Brand Management
- Oversee digital marketing, social media, advertising, promotions, and community partnerships.
- Ensure compliance with brand standards and marketing guidelines.
- Collaborate with operations to align guest experience with marketing messaging.
- Promote on-site outlets (restaurant, bar, events, shuttle, amenities).
Client & Community Relations
- Represent the hotel at networking events, trade shows, and community functions.
- Build strong relationships with corporate partners, travel managers, event planners, and local organizations.
- Handle high-level client negotiations and service recovery when needed.
Reporting & Budget Management
- Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports and forecasts.
- Manage the sales and marketing budget effectively.
- Analyze ROI on marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns.
Collaboration
- Work closely with General Management, Front Office, Catering, and Operations teams.
- Support special events, citywide demand periods, and need dates.
- Ensure accurate communication of group details and expectations to operational teams.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hotel sales leadership experience (full-service preferred).
- Proven success in driving group, corporate, and catering revenue.
- Strong knowledge of hotel sales systems.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Marketing, Business, or related field preferred.

The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000 annually.
