Overview
The High Velocity Event (HVE) Lead is responsible for end-to-end strategy, planning, and execution of major sales events including Prime Day, Prime Big Deal Days, and seasonal sales (Labor Day Sale, Big Spring Sale, etc.) on behalf of Zappos FBA. This highly visible role serves as the central orchestrator across buying, planning, pricing, marketing, and operations teams to drive event success and maximize customer engagement.
Responsibilities
Strategic Event Planning & Alignment: Lead development of comprehensive event strategies and assortment frameworks months in advance; drive cross-functional alignment with buying, planning, pricing, and leadership to establish clear objectives, targets, and trade-offs
Merchandising Strategy & Product Curation: Own hero style selection strategy and deal portfolio composition; ensure product mix aligns with customer demand signals, brand priorities, and financial goals while balancing inventory investment and margin considerations
Stakeholder Orchestration & Program Management: Serve as central point of coordination across multiple teams and functions; establish clear workback timelines, ownership structures, and communication cadences to ensure seamless execution
Forecasting & Inventory Optimization: Partner with planning to develop accurate demand forecasts; proactively identify and resolve inventory risks, qualification gaps, and supply constraints that could impact event performance
Performance Monitoring & Real-Time Optimization: Track event performance against targets throughout execution; identify opportunities and risks in real-time and activate appropriate levers to maximize results
Marketing & Discoverability Strategy: Ensure event receives appropriate visibility across all relevant Amazon channels; advocate for Zappos placement in high-impact traffic drivers and coordinate marketing support across teams
Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Sharing: Synthesize event learnings into actionable insights; facilitate post-event reviews with leadership and document recommendations to drive ongoing program evolution
Qualifications
4+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional programs or marketing campaigns from concept to completion
Experience managing and measuring marketing performance in various channels
Bachelor’s degree
Experience managing external partners to develop marketing programs
Experience presenting ideas to various levels of an organization to gain support for initiatives
Usage of generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency, with a willingness to learn effective prompting and evaluation practices
Ability to recognize opportunities where generative AI could enhance products, workflows, or customer experiences

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
