Jaypirca (Pirtobrutinib) is an exciting new brand within Lilly Oncology, which has expanded the portfolio into hematology for the first time.
This asset has six potential indications to launch, significantly impacting the lives of people with blood cancers around the world. The first two accelerated indications for Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL) and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) launched in the U.S. in 2023, the anchor indication for adults with relapsed/refractory CLL after a covalent BTK inhibitor launched globally in 2025, and there are further anticipated NILEX indications to come in 2026/2027.
This role requires deep competency in brand strategy and launch strategy development, given the complexity of simultaneous development across multiple indications. The Global Senior Director of Brand Strategy will focus on deeply understanding the hematology market, competition, key players, and their needs; and in turn, leverage this understanding to build a long‑term strategy across indications, continuing to evolve the strategy to sustain our position over time.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing high‑performing teams and delivering exceptional customer experiences, willing to push boundaries and think differently, and able to deliver impact in a fast‑paced, rapidly evolving environment while maintaining a positive, team‑first attitude. This leader will need to effectively collaborate with key affiliates to co‑develop and align on the global long‑term commercial strategy and messaging, while also collaborating with medical/global product teams to prepare for future data releases and submissions. The position will report to the AVP / Global Brand Leader of Jaypirca.
Key Objectives/Deliverables: The Global Senior Director Brand Strategy responsibilities are listed below; however, these may evolve based on changing asset, market, team, and launch needs.
Objective 1: People Management (25%)
Develop, retain, motivate, and recruit a diverse and inclusive marketing team.
Manage performance and development of direct reports, setting clear roles and responsibilities to help them reach their full potential.
In collaboration with the pirtobrutinib leadership team, lead and influence the team toward an inclusive, high‑performance culture.
Objective 2: Brand Foundation & Strategy (50%)
Lead development and maintenance of a deep understanding of the market landscape, competitive efforts, and value needs/insights of patients, physicians, and payers; ensure this understanding drives marketing deliverables and cross‑functional decisions.
Build upon the currently developed differentiated brand strategy and positioning to evolve for success over time. Launch horizon‑based, line agnostic strategy to sustain clear market position as Jaypirca reads out additional Phase 3 trials.
Prepare evolving commercialization strategies for differing indication and launch sequence scenarios, including HCP and consumer core message elements and messaging.
Lead creative execution elements, content, core claims, and global solutions/templates for HCPs and patients for agreed global deliverables.
Engage affiliates in the development of global campaigns and solutions; ensure regions and affiliates understand and use global campaign materials.
Maintain a deep understanding of promotional rules of engagement and the critical role of a product label.
Influence the global development team to develop robust Phase 3B/4 trials and SDD plans to address key customer questions.
Lead development of NILEX opportunities and how each fits with the overall brand strategy.
Objective 3: Big Idea Global Solutions Development (25%)
Develop compelling, behavior‑changing, and differentiated solutions to bring the brand strategy to life and deliver unparalleled customer experiences.
Partner with Global Medical Affairs to identify data evidence needs and deliver promotional data dissemination plans to support brand strategy and launch success.
Minimum Experience / Personal Skill Requirements:
Bachelors Degree
7+ years of pharmaceutical marketing experience
Oncology experience

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is $154,500 - $226,600
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
