Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in Seattle, Washington.
Work You’ll Do Assist clients to manage state tax liability and address challenges such as unique state tax laws, enforcement focus of state departments of revenue, a growing number of audits and increased merger and acquisition activity. Services include business restructuring, credits and incentives, sales and use tax, sales and use tax outsourcing, state income and franchise tax, state strategic tax review, and state tax controversy. Provide compliance and consulting services to corporate, pass‑through and individual clients. Identify complex tax issues and review/refine tax analysis drafted by junior team members. Primary responsibilities include overseeing complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries and researching and analyzing a wide range of tax issues, such as deferred tax liability issues and tax implications of financing techniques, for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Assume tax‑planning responsibilities for corporate, pass‑through and individual clients. Will commute within the Seattle, WA area to consult with clients concerning the above duties.
Requirements Requires Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in accounting, finance or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus eighteen months of experience as a Tax Senior or related occupation gaining accounting or tax preparation experience (willing to accept pre‑ and post‑Bachelor’s experience).
Experience must include one year of
applying federal, state and local tax rules to partnerships and corporate clients;
providing income and franchise tax consulting, tax planning, state tax audit defense and income tax accounting services for multi‑state companies; preparing and filing state tax returns for C‑corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies in multi‑state jurisdictions;
preparing and filing K‑1s, withholding and composite returns for partnerships and limited liability companies, including hedge funds and private equity funds;
preparing and reviewing state income tax extensions, quarterly estimates, K‑1s and returns for pass‑through entities and corporations based on varying state regulations for the apportionment of income and nexus‑creating activities;
utilizing tax research tools, including CCH, RIA Checkpoint and BNA to research complex tax issues relating to tax law changes, regulations or tax cases;
utilizing tax preparation software, including Corptax, GoSystem, ONESOURCE and SuperForm, to prepare corporate and partnership state and local tax returns;
performing state taxation services, including state apportionments, modifications and state and local credit calculations, based on varying state regulations;
mediating between clients and state revenue departments to resolve state tax notices, audits or other tax‑related issues/inquiries; and
identifying critical tax matters from state legislation, applying analysis to client businesses and assisting clients with tax compliance efforts.
Less than 10% domestic travel outside normal commuting distance.
Other Annual Salary: $81,620.00 - $151,580.00.
