The
Tax Senior
plays a key role within the firm’s tax practice, responsible for preparing and reviewing complex individual, trust, and business tax returns while ensuring compliance with current federal, state, and local tax laws. This individual collaborates with clients, and cross-functional teams to identify strategic tax planning opportunities and maintain accurate financial documentation. Responsibilities
Tax Preparation & Review Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, and trusts. Analyze financial data and ensure accuracy and completeness of supporting documentation. Stay current with evolving tax codes, regulations, and compliance requirements. Identify opportunities for tax savings, credits, and deferrals through proactive analysis. Support internal team during tax season to ensure timely and accurate filing. Client Relationship Management Collaborate with clients to gather required tax information and clarify documentation needs. Assist in communicating complex tax concepts in a clear and practical manner. Participate in client meetings to discuss filings, planning strategies, and recommendations. Identify potential prospective clients and work with leaders to determine if our services are a fit for the clients need and onboard new clients. Collaboration & Team Support Work closely with other tax team members to deliver high-quality tax services. Review work prepared by other tax members, providing guidance and feedback. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure integrated client service. Work cross-functionally to identify additional services that clients may need. Assist in the development of firm tax policies, procedures, and internal training initiatives. Necessary Skills & Abilities
In-depth knowledge of federal and state tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Proficiency with tax software (e.g., Thomson Reuters CS, UltraTax, SurePrep, TaxCaddy, SafeSend, and similar software) and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to clients. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of partnership, corporate, and individual taxation. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3–5 years of experience in public accounting or tax preparation. Authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis. Preferred Qualifications
Active CPA license or CPA eligibility. Experience with high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and multi-entity structures. Strong background in tax research and planning for closely held businesses. Experience supporting high-net-worth clients with integrated tax and estate planning strategies. Working Environment & Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate. Client and internal company information is highly confidential. The essential functions of the Tax Senior role will require the employee to be able to communicate verbally with others. The employee will often be required to sit for extended periods of time and use a computer and other office equipment. The employee will occasionally be required to stand, move, reach, and lift up to 10 lbs. The employee may be required to travel and work at the client site. Additional Information
