Description We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Tax Staff member to join our team in Pismo Beach, California. In this role, you will assist in preparing and analyzing tax filings for a variety of clients, including individuals and businesses. - Prepare federal, state, and local tax filings for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and meet filing deadlines at all jurisdictional levels.
- Collaborate with the tax team to address client inquiries and resolve basic tax-related issues.
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary financial data and provide updates on filing statuses.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations.
- Analyze and review data to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with industry standards.
- Gain hands-on experience with diverse tax scenarios to develop technical proficiency.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Excel to streamline tax preparation processes.
- Support senior tax staff with audits and other complex tax matters as needed. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field; candidates pursuing certifications such as CPA are preferred.
- Proficiency in using tax software and accounting tools, including QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines during busy tax seasons.
- Basic understanding of tax codes, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Previous internship or academic experience in taxation is highly valued.
