Our Opportunity Richelieu is currently seeking a
Business Development Manager
to lead the national development and execution of the
Cabinet Doors and Drawers segment across the U.S.
The candidate reports directly to the Director of U.S. Sales. This role carries national commercial responsibility for the category and leads a small, dedicated team. The Business Development Manager will drive strategy, vendor development, pricing, sales execution, and cross‑functional alignment to build a scalable, profitable, and differentiated U.S. program. They will take responsibility for growing our business with
kitchen and bath dealers, retailers, distributors, and buying groups
throughout the United States.
Candidates must live on the East Coast or in the Mid‑West, optimally near a major airport to facilitate frequent travel. Travel‑ 50‑75% of the time. National travel within the U.S.
Duties include:
Develop and execute the
U.S. growth strategy
for Cabinet Doors & Drawers
Build and formalize the national program, including:
Market positioning
Target customer segmentation
Go‑to‑market approach
Own the
U.S. commercial business plan , including growth targets, pricing strategy, and execution priorities
Establish KPIs and track performance against growth objectives
Vendor development and purchasing collaboration
Identify, onboard, and manage
strategic vendor partnerships
Lead
pricing negotiations
and commercial agreements
Leverage Richelieu’s
premium panel offerings
to support vendors and strengthen purchasing leverage
Partner with Purchasing and Head Office to align supply chain scalability and margin objectives
Work closely with
Sales Managers and Sales Representatives
across all regions to drive adoption and growth
Support and participate in:
Regional and national sales meetings
Customer presentations and negotiations
Make
direct sales calls
on high‑impact national and strategic opportunities
Represent Richelieu at
trade shows and industry events
Provide sales teams with training, tools, and best practices
Schedule and hold both virtual and face‑to‑face meetings with new and existing customers
Drive growth of the region's sales, both through new customer acquisition as well as the development of existing relationships
Identify and analyze buying patterns of current accounts, and brainstorm ways to become their stronger, more inclusive supplier
Educate yourself on, and continuously stay up to date with, Richelieu’s product offerings as well as ever‑changing market conditions and competitive analysis
Provide commercial direction to
Customer Service Managers
to ensure consistent execution and alignment with sales objectives
Improve coordination between Sales, Customer Service, and Operations for complex projects and national programs
Lead, coach, and develop direct reports
Align product roadmap, vendor strategy, and sales execution
Ensure clear accountability and communication within the segment team
Expansion of the Cabinet Doors & Drawers program beyond the Northeast
Sustained national revenue growth and increased market penetration
Successful onboarding and performance of strategic vendor partners
Strong engagement and adoption by regional sales teams
Execution of high‑impact national customer wins
What We Are Looking For
Proven experience in
national business development, category leadership, or sales management
Background in cabinet components, doors & drawers, panels, millwork, or related building products
Experience managing vendor relationships and pricing negotiations
Strong cross‑functional leadership and execution skills
Willingness to travel extensively across the U.S.
Ability to be both a "hunter" of new relationships and a "farmer" to develop existing retail customers
Self‑starter, able to work independently
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
College degree is preferred but not required; a combination of education and experience will be considered
