Summary
WP Davis Excavation LLC is seeking a
hands-on Construction Superintendent
to run day-to-day field operations on a long-term
heavy civil and environmental restoration project
in Whiting, Maine. This is a
fully on-site role
for a superintendent who can
plan, execute, and solve problems independently in the field
with minimal daily oversight. This position is for a
builder, not a desk superintendent .
Responsibilities
Run daily field operations for the project
Lead company crews and subcontractors from the field
Plan and sequence work based on construction means and methods
Enforce jobsite safety, OSHA compliance, and environmental permits
Oversee excavation, earthwork, cofferdams, dewatering, and concrete work
Resolve constructability and sequencing issues in real time
Coordinate schedules, equipment, materials, and deliveries
Train and guide crews to maintain quality and productivity
Maintain daily reports and required documentation
Communicate with project management, engineers, inspectors, and owners
Requirements
5+ years as a superintendent or lead field supervisor on heavy civil projects
Strong earthwork and concrete experience
Hands-on layout experience (total station and/or conventional methods)
Ability to read and interpret plans, profiles, and details
Comfortable working independently on a remote project site
OSHA 10 required (OSHA 30 preferred)
Valid driver’s license
Preferred Experience
Dam rehabilitation, fish passage, marine, or environmental work
Maine DEP or environmental compliance experience
CPR / First Aid certification
