
WSU Tech is seeking a
Financial Aid Specialist
to support students through the financial aid process and ensure accurate, timely delivery of federal, institutional, and scholarship aid. This role plays a critical part in helping students understand their financial options and successfully access the resources needed to achieve their educational goals. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, student-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Compensation: $23.01 /hr
Worksite Location: NCAT and City Center
Schedule: M-F, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. (Hours will range)
Overview / Job Summary The Financial Aid Specialist plays a pivotal role in managing Financial Aid operations while ensuring that students receive proper guidance and service related to their financial aid applications and awards.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Advise students on financial aid options, eligibility, and file status
Assist students with financial aid applications and award processes
Process financial aid documents accurately and in compliance with federal and institutional regulations
Maintain up-to-date records in the college’s system
Apply professional judgment, within guidelines, to evaluate financial aid files
Communicate financial aid information, updates, and procedures to students and stakeholders
Contribute to continuous improvement of financial aid processes
Participate in required meetings, training, and professional development
Ensure confidentiality and compliance with all applicable laws and policies
Perform other duties as assigned
Education
Associate Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Preferred Experience and Skills
Prior experience in financial aid or scholarship counseling preferred.
Additional Skills and Competencies
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to communicate professionally and calmly with students, staff, and the public \
Comfort working in a high-volume, student-facing environment
