Description Summary

The Cross-Functional Travel Specialist serves business clients by developing, organizing, implementing and evaluating travel reservations (domestic, international, group air, VIP); building client relationships; ensuring client satisfaction. They provide assistance to customers with refunds, exchanges, cancellations, and online queues. The role requires flexibility to work in multiple areas and follow multiple travel policies. Knowledge across all facets of business travel and excellent customer service to internal and external customers is essential.

A day in the life

Providing exceptional travel services for domestic, trans-border and extensive international itineraries; may provide specialized services to VIP clients.

Booking domestic and international reservations for air, travel, hotel and ground transportation; follow up as necessary to complete reservations.

Counseling clients on efficient routes, lowest available airfares, and travel products/services.

Ensuring optimum customer service through effective use of computer systems and telephone techniques.

Anticipating client needs and acting on special requests.

Maintaining awareness and adherence to clients’ procedures, programs, and policy guidelines.

Maintaining Fox World Travel best practices and striving to exceed quality and productivity goals.

Ability to work under pressure and multi-task while maintaining professional rapport with clients.

Assisting with projects and in various areas within business travel operations.

Assisting customers with online booking tool questions and fulfilling online reservations.

Processing exchanges, voids, and refunds for travelers.

Maintaining knowledge of airline practices, programs & operations; vendor loyalty programs; and Travelport+/Smartpoint GDS.

Possessing extensive knowledge of destination geography; providing specialized services to VIP clients.

Acting as a role model to reinforce superior customer service and professionalism; assisting in transitioning new team members.

Continuous improvement through training and constructive feedback; identifying process enhancements.

Ability to work every weekend, holiday hours, and West Coast shifts as determined by business need.

Collaborating with team members across departments to foster trust and mutual respect; driving standards and best practices.

Being innovative, recommending new approaches to improve efficiency of operations and services.

Other duties, projects and alternate assignments as determined by business need.

This Opportunity Might Be For You If You Have

3-plus years related Business Travel experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Exceptional customer service skills.

The ability to work West Coast hours (typically until 7:30 PM CT), every weekend, and holidays as scheduled.

GDS proficiency required; Travelport+/Smartpoint preferred.

Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Friendly and professional demeanor.

Skilled in usage of a personal computer and various software packages.

This role typically uses standard office equipment such as computers, headset, mouse, keyboard, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Compensation & Benefits The estimated base pay range for this position starts between $22 and $28 per hour, less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid bi-weekly. Salary ranges vary by location, experience, education, industry knowledge, and market conditions. Eligible positions may receive additional incentive or commission per program details. Benefits are subject to eligibility and plan documents. Fox World Travel reserves the right to modify benefits offered.
