THE ROLE
At its core, this role is about being the voice of Do713—the person who defines how Houston experiences what’s happening in the city. You are the connective tissue between the local scene and our audience, translating concerts, events, food, culture, and moments into content that feels timely, trusted, and unmistakably Houston. You’ll bring that voice to life across multiple touchpoints, with the daily email newsletter serving as a key (but not the only) way we connect with our audience. Whether it’s highlighting can’t-miss events, shaping how experiences are presented on our site, or collaborating with partners and contributors, you’ll take ownership of how Do713 shows up day to day. You’ll be responsible for ensuring our website is the best possible representation of Houston—keeping event listings fresh, curating must-attend experiences, maintaining accurate venue and artist pages, and working with a network of contributors to strengthen and expand our content coverage. Beyond content, you’ll cultivate relationships with local venues, promoters, and brands, securing ticket giveaways, partnerships, and exclusive experiences that add real value for our audience. You’ll also help amplify our presence across social channels, using them to extend reach, spark engagement, and reinforce our editorial voice. You’ll engage directly with users—answering questions, responding to feedback, and ensuring a seamless experience across our platforms—while continually thinking about how to better serve and grow our community.
