Ideal experience with app creation for wearables for workout/sports (e.g., Fitbit, Peloton, Apple Watch) or hardware/app creation with products like Alexa, Google Nest, Ring, etc.

Full two‑year assignment. Person already in PDX preferred, but relocation possible if a good fit.

Three rounds of interviews; manager wants to move quickly.

Responsibilities Digital Product Designer – Advanced Product Ventures (APV)

Location:

Beaverton, OR (in‑person required)

What You Will Work On

Design user interfaces and interactions for mobile apps (iOS and Android) and connected hardware experiences.

Translate research insights and product requirements into wireframes, prototypes, and polished designs.

Collaborate with engineers, QA, and product managers to ensure feasibility and quality throughout the development lifecycle.

Partner with UX research to iterate designs based on user feedback and testing.

Maintain and evolve design systems and documentation for cohesive, inclusive experiences across all touchpoints.

Champion accessibility and usability design principles.

Support operational planning and delivery of long‑term initiatives for APV.

Present design strategy and rationale to senior leadership and cross‑functional teams.

Who You Will Work With

Product managers, engineers (hardware, firmware, software), QA, and UX researchers on Nike's Advanced Product Ventures team.

Key member of the Experience Squad, driving the vision and execution of digital experiences for athletes.

Requirements What You Bring

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interaction Design, Human‑Computer Interaction, Visual Design, or related field.

7+ years of experience designing mobile apps, ideally for hardware products.

Proven track record of leading end‑to‑end design for consumer‑facing digital products.

Expertise in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping platforms.

Experience collaborating with engineering and QA teams in Agile environments.

Strong portfolio demonstrating mobile app design, hardware‑connected experiences, and design system work.

Deep understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and inclusive design.

Excellent communication, storytelling, and facilitation skills.

Ability to thrive in ambiguity and drive clarity through organized, actionable design steps.

Comfortable presenting and facilitating discussions with senior leadership.

Skills
