Do you enjoy working with kids and exploring Raleigh's history? Mordecai Historic Park and the Historic Raleigh Trolley has just the summer job for you!

Work with Raleigh’s historic sites to implement four weeks of summer camp and lead a team of four camp counselors. Our camp will be based out of Mordecai Historic Park, with daily field trips on the Historic Raleigh Trolley to local historic sites and museums. We combine field trips to unique locations and on-site games and activities at each location to create a fun-filled and educational experience.

Camp Directors will learn effective leadership skills and useful supervisory experience as they lead a team of four camp educators. They will assist full-time staff in planning camp activities and supervise camp field trips.

Interested applicants must be reliable, able to relate to kids ages 9-13, and have some interest in Raleigh's history and cultural offerings. Applicants must be available to work a minimum of 4 days a week between the hours of 8:00am and 5:30pm.

Working Conditions Workers are subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions and noise. Activities occur both inside and outside without protection from the weather. Workers are subject to extreme heat: Temperature above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Workers are subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
