Job Description We are a high‑end interior design firm based in Brentwood, CA looking for a Senior Interior Designer who will work with the Principal, Clients, Junior Designers and Vendors as the point person through all phases of the project from the initial design concept to the final installation.
This position requires a strong knowledge of design, materials, showrooms, drafting, space planning, and custom furniture design. It also requires the ability to think clearly and efficiently in a fast‑paced environment. We do a large amount of high‑end residential work in Cabo San Lucas so travel is essential.
Responsibilities
Support the Principal, Project Managers and team in the implementation and management of several residential, commercial, or hospitality interior design projects from initial planning through project completion.
Assemble design presentations.
Gather quotes, create and prepare proposal packages for clients using Studio Designer. Communicate in a timely manner regarding proposals, receipts, and payments due to vendors.
Oversee preparation and submission of purchase orders to vendors.
Create project budgets and track spending through the course of the project.
Prepare floor, space, furniture plans and elevations in AutoCAD, and produce hand drawings or computer renderings that communicate design intent.
Prepare and maintain interior design documents such as plans, specifications, templates, schedules, and shop drawings.
Source furniture, fabrics, fixtures, finishes and accessories in line with client needs and the Principal’s design vision.
Manage and maintain continual communication with the Principal, Project Managers, design team and vendors regarding project timelines, tracking, lead times, custom orders, timing for fabric selections, CFAs, workroom inspections, installations and other project‑related information.
Represent the company at meetings with clients, architects, contractors and vendors.
Organize and spearhead installations.
Qualifications
4-year degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture or equivalent skill set.
Experience in high‑end residential design (3‑5+ years).
Experience managing projects with specified budgets and timelines.
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong knowledge of design.
Knowledge and Skills
Efficient in AutoCAD (3‑5+ years experience preferred).
Strong ability to problem‑solve, time management skills and highly organized.
Strong attention to detail.
Knowledge of Studio Designer.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
Creative with a good eye for design and space planning.
Strong communicator and represent the firm well when interacting with clients and vendors.
Strong ability to work within a team and proactively.
Experience in furniture and product design is a plus.
Experience in rendering is a plus.
