Interior Designer – Contract Position

Part-time Contract position (no benefits offered - per project)
About Us Thomas Sattler Homes is a premier custom luxury home builder in the Denver metro area, specializing in high‑end, bespoke residences that blend timeless craftsmanship with elegant design. We’re seeking a talented Designer to join our team on a per‑project contract basis to elevate our clients’ dream homes.
Role Overview As a Designer, you’ll collaborate closely with our team, clients, architects, and vendors to create sophisticated, personalized finish palettes for our custom luxury homes. This part‑time role focuses on material/finish selections, client consultations, and showroom support in our Englewood location. Ideal for an experienced Designer seeking flexible work in the luxury custom home space.
Key Responsibilities
Consult with high‑end clients to understand their vision, lifestyle, and preferences
Develop detailed interior design concepts, including space planning, color schemes, furniture layouts, and custom millwork detail
Source and specify premium materials, fixtures, furnishings, lighting, and accessories
Prepare and present design presentations, mood boards, and 3D renderings
Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure seamless execution
Assist with showroom management (client meetings, material displays, sample organization)
Manage project timelines, budgets, and client communications throughout the design phase
Requirements
8+ years of professional experience in interior design, with a strong focus on
luxury custom homes
(new construction and remodels)
Exceptional eye for detail, creativity, and a sophisticated sense of style
Proficiency in design software like AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), and 3D rendering tools
Strong knowledge of space planning, materials/finishes, lighting, color theory, and current luxury trends
Excellent client communication, presentation, organization and project management skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced custom build environment
Resume and portfolio required – must submit a professional look book or digital portfolio showcasing completed luxury residential projects (include photos of finished spaces, material selections, and client collaborations)
Bonus Qualifications
Experience managing a design showroom or client‑facing material library
Familiarity with Colorado‑specific building codes
Compensation & Details
Competitive contract flat rate fee based on experience (per project)
Flexible part‑time hours (approximately 48 hours/project)
No benefits provided (1099 independent contractor status)
Work primarily from our Englewood showroom with occasional site visits
