We are seeking a

Senior Account Supervisor (SAS)

to join our growing team in New York, Atlanta, or Washington D.C. to help us realize this vision and drive our industry forward. A great SAS for the Edelman Technology team is someone who understands the technology sector, knows how to reach a variety of business audiences, and has an appetite to own and drive the kinds of integrated communications marketing campaigns that win awards.

This is no ordinary technology role – the remit requires more of a traditional corporate communications mindset paired with a high level of sector experience in technology. We’re seeking someone who understands executive positioning, business media and the conference/event landscape. We want a trusted advisor who can shape corporate reputation strategies against the ever-changing technology landscape.

The Role You will develop corporate reputation and executive positioning strategies on behalf of some of our top technology clients. You will learn Edelman’s various Communications Marketing processes/approaches, including public engagement, message workshops, master narrative assignments, brand engagement, social media campaigns, and stakeholder mapping exercises and be able to support integrated teams in the execution of these processes for clients. You will be responsible for the supervision of account work performed by junior staff, demonstrating the ability to manage up, as well as manage across with peers and mentor account team members.

Responsibilities

Supervising staff by mentoring, motivating, and coaching

Managing projects for multiple clients from concept to completion by anticipating challenges, troubleshooting problems, proposing solutions, offering client counsel, overseeing quality, and ensuring deadline and budget adherence

Demonstrating tactical and strategic knowledge of integrated Communications Marketing principles and skills, and contributing to the creation of communications marketing plans to meet client objectives

Driving media relations including creating and driving outreach plans, media strategy, and message development

Applying key client information to work, including general business strategy, industry trends and issues, products/services, key opinion leaders, customers, and competitors

Demonstrating practical understanding of visual communications, multimedia, social media and the digital landscape and how to incorporate these into client programs

Introducing clients to new capabilities, initiating the new business process and display strong presentation skills during client pitches

Basic Qualifications

At least six years of experience in Communications, Marketing, and/or related fields.

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications

Have relationships with business and national news media

Excellent storytelling skills, and ability to provide sound, level-appropriate media counsel with all levels of client contacts

Have managed the budgets and team on sizable pieces of business to achieve client goals

Have written strategic media plans and a variety of media materials with limited oversight

Proven account management and team leadership skills

Keen interest and high awareness of current events

Solutions-oriented mindset

Compensation & Benefits $80,000 - $120,000 a year

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
