The University of Central Missouri’s Integrated Marketing & Communications team is seeking a Student Graphic Designer to support the creation of high-quality visual materials that represent the university’s brand across campus and beyond. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside the university’s marketing team in a professional design environment. Student designers contribute to the same types of projects created by full-time staff, gaining meaningful, real-world experience while developing strong habits around attention to detail, meeting deadlines and communicating effectively with teammates. You’ll collaborate closely with designers, writers and campus partners while building practical skills in branding, production and workflow management that translate directly to future professional roles.
Duties Include
Design & Production
Create and revise graphic design materials using Adobe Creative Cloud (primarily InDesign and Illustrator)
Follow UCM brand standards, templates and production guidelines
Prepare files for review, approval and vendor production
Implement feedback from supervising designers, IMC reviewers and campus partners
Maintain organized project files, version control and proper archiving
Workflow & Communication
Check the Student Designer Job System and email daily for assignments and updates
Track project progress and update statuses accurately
Meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Collaborate professionally with full-time staff and other student designers
Office & Front Desk Support
Provide front desk coverage for at least one hour per week, including greeting visitors, answering phones and assisting with general office needs
Education
Must be a current UCM student in good academic standing
Must be a Graphic Design and/or Illustration major/minor
Experience
Must have working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
Strong attention to detail, adaptability under pressure, and willingness to follow established procedures.
Openness to feedback and the willingness to revise work accordingly.
Reliable, organized and professional communication skills
Experience with photo editing and illustration, including basic photo retouching and vector illustration.
Familiarity with file preparation for print production
Experience working with brand guidelines or templates

Minimum shift length: 2 hours
M-F 8-5, up to 18 hours per week
Shifts scheduled around class availability
