Overview Job Description: SMB Sales Representatives are responsible for selling Hawaiian Telcom's Fiber Optic communication solutions to small and medium sized businesses within an assigned territory. The SMB Sales Rep is responsible for generating all sales leads primarily through door-to-door and outbound call activity. The position is responsible for activity that will drive new revenue growth and fiber optic network penetration. The candidate will provide a high level of quality service, excel in needs assessment and consultative selling, and have a thorough understanding of the products and services offered by Hawaiian Telcom. The SMB Sales Rep must be a self-motivator, able to work with minimal supervision, and be able to effectively educate customers about Hawaiian Telcom's Fioptics Internet, Telephone Solutions, Network Security services, and more.

Essential Functions

Assess the customer's needs and provide optimal communication solutions and applications from our product and service suite that meets those needs

Thoroughly understand the features and benefits of all services and products offered

Provide consistent documented customer sales and follow up by maintaining a sales funnel tracker

Stay up to date on latest company and industry updates, trends and understanding of our promotional offers and geography of areas of concentration

Take ownership for understanding the systems and tools that support and qualify customers for our products and services

Consistently attain Sales, Activation Goals and Productivity metrics

Consistently demonstrate a superior application of all training provided

Attend and participate in sales meetings as established by management

Education Four years of High School or equivalent

Certifications, Accreditations, Licenses

Valid driver's license required

Relevant Work Experience 1 to 3 years in related field

Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of communications technologies and services, with emphasis on Internet fundamentals

Superior Listening skills

Ability to absorb and demonstrate a thorough understanding of a broad range of products, services, procedures, and systems

Consultative selling skills, needs assessment skills, problem-solving skills, and integrative thinking

Organizational and time management skills

Relevant education and training courses desired

Supervisory Responsibility This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities

Work Environment

Travel to neighbor islands

Office and/or Outside Working Environment with exposure to inclement weather

Salary Range: $45,000-$63,000 (plus commission)
