A Day in the Life of a Vice President & Senior Portfolio Manager (Private Client Group)
In this role, you’ll manage and grow client investment portfolios while delivering a high-touch, personalized wealth management experience. You’ll partner closely with Wealth Planners and Private Client Group colleagues to attract new clients, strengthen existing relationships, and align investment strategies with each client’s long-term goals and risk tolerance. Your day will include building and adjusting portfolios, meeting with clients and prospects, and collaborating with internal investment, marketing, and advisory partners. You’ll operate with a high degree of autonomy while leveraging the firm’s deep investment resources to deliver thoughtful, scalable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Grow and manage a profitable book of business by partnering with Wealth Planners to attract new clients, deepen existing relationships, and expand assets under management.
- Design, implement, and actively manage customized investment strategies across multiple asset classes to meet client goals, risk tolerance, and long-term objectives.
- Deliver a high-touch client experience through clear communication, regular portfolio reviews, and collaboration with clients’ outside advisors.
- Monitor markets and portfolio performance by researching securities, adjusting allocations, and managing risk to preserve capital and enhance returns.
- Collaborate across internal investment and compliance teams to align portfolio strategy with firm investment guidance while ensuring regulatory and policy adherence.
Qualification Criteria
- Bachelor\'s Degree in Business or other related field.
- Typically, five-plus years of track record in investment management for individuals, business development, investment consulting or related field.
- Knowledge of securities markets and their behavior in various economic environments.
- Skilled in portfolio construction and risk management.
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Board, or FINRA Series 65, or FINRA Series 66 upon hire.
