Salary Details
A minimum salary of $344,678 for Associate Professor and $400,000 for Professor. The final base salary for this faculty appointment will be determined by the Department and School in accordance with institutional policies and practices.

The Associate Director for Clinical Research will have responsibility for oversight of all clinical research activity of all Rutgers Cancer Institute programs. This includes oversight of the Office of Human Research Services, the clinical Disease Specific Groups, clinical research related shared resources, and inter-programmatic meetings with clinical and translational researchers across the Cancer Institute.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Planning and evaluation of clinical investigations at Rutgers Cancer Institute.
  • Overseeing the development, integration, and coordination of the clinical scientists into cohesive groups.
  • In collaboration with the Deputy Director for Administration & Planning, overseeing the activities of the Office of Human Research Services.
  • Ensuring that the shared resources support the clinical science programs.
  • Promoting inter- and intra-programmatic collaborations.
  • Assisting in recruiting new clinical science members to the center.
  • Participating in the planning of the Annual Scientific Retreat.
  • Reviewing all clinical research protocol budgets.
  • Helping basic and population scientists link their proposals to the clinical science base.
  • Ensuring the quality and scientific integrity of clinical research.
  • Developing a clinical research strategy across the service line, promoting clinical research across all hospital sites, and leading efforts to optimize trial portfolio and patient enrollments across the service line.

The Associate Director for Clinical Research will be expected to serve on the Rutgers Cancer Institute Executive Leadership Team, Research Leadership Council, and participate in the Internal and External Advisory Board meetings.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must have international recognition, prior leadership experience that supports the advancement of clinical research programs, and a proven ability to attract and sustain national cancer research funding. Candidates should also be adept at building productive relationships with community partners and patient advocacy groups, fostering engagement that enhances clinical research participation and impact.
