About the Role The Vice President of Marketing & Strategy is a senior leader responsible for
managing people, systems, and priorities
to deliver effective, evidence-based geopolitical communications campaigns across international markets.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this role ensures that teams operate with discipline, clarity, and accountability; that analytics meaningfully inform decision-making; and that creative campaign strategies are planned and executed in alignment with geopolitical realities. This position balances

to support complex, high-stakes client engagements.
Responsibilities Leadership & Management (Primary Responsibility)
Lead, manage, and develop cross-functional marketing and communications including building roadmaps for team growth and development.
Oversee management of partner firms across multiple regions and time zones.
Establish clear roles, workflows, and accountability structures to ensure consistent delivery across campaigns.
Set priorities, allocate resources, and manage budgets to align with strategic objectives.
Foster a culture of professionalism, analytical discipline, and strategic thinking.
Serve as a senior internal decision-maker, escalating risks and resolving operational challenges.
Analytics, Measurement & Performance Oversight
Oversee marketing and communications analytics strategy
Optimize campaign performance reporting with data integration, narrative changes, sentiment analysis, and other client-determined key performance indicators. Ensure measurement supports management decisions.
Review and validate analytical outputs, ensuring they are methodologically sound and decision-relevant.
Develop multi-variate testing strategies for campaigns.
Translate analytical findings into clear guidance for clients and internal leadership.
Set expectations for data quality, reporting standards, and insight generation across markets.
Assess current data needs for the firm and provide thoughtful proposals for new tools, onboarding, and integrate new tools. Mentor team for full utilization of the tools.
Strategic Planning & Creative Campaign Direction
Lead the strategic planning of geopolitical and international communications campaigns.
Guide creative teams to develop campaigns grounded in political, cultural, and regional realities.
Ensure creative concepts align with analytics, research, and geopolitical risk assessments.
Oversee narrative development, messaging frameworks, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
Balance creativity with restraint, ensuring campaigns are credible, defensible, and context-appropriate.
Client Advisory & Senior Engagement
Act as a senior advisor to clients on strategy, risk, and communications approach.
Lead senior-level client engagements, briefings, and presentations.
Support new business development through strategic positioning and campaign planning.
Maintain trusted relationships with clients operating in complex political and regulatory environments.
Qualifications
12–15 years of progressive experience in strategic communications, marketing, public affairs, or related fields.
Demonstrated success managing senior teams and complex, multi-market campaigns.
Proven ability to lead through ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and make sound judgement calls.
Experience operating in international or cross-cultural environments.
Strong understanding of marketing and communications analytics, measurement frameworks, and performance evaluation.
Ability to interpret data and research to inform strategy, risk assessment, and decision-making.
Experience overseeing sentiment analysis, narrative tracking, and campaign performance measurement.
Proven experience planning and directing strategic communications or geopolitical campaigns for project managers, researchers, and creative teams.
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in international relations, political science, communications, marketing, or a related field preferred.
Work Arrangement & Support
Location:
Hybrid — four days per week in our Alexandria, VA-area office, one day remote.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range:
$170,000 - $195,000 base, plus annual performance-bonus eligibility.
