Central Life Sciences is searching for a

Director of Engineering

in our Dallas, Texas location. The Director of Engineering will lead a cross‑functional engineering organization supporting internal manufacturing and third‑party operations across multiple sites. The Director is responsible for engineering capital execution, engineering team development, process optimization, and technical oversight of new product scale up. They will play a key role in meeting the company’s commercial, operational and sustainability goals while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, EPA, OSHA, cGMP, and GLP standards. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, technical acumen, and business alignment to drive long‑term value for Central Life Sciences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing engineering team across two manufacturing facilities and external partners, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Fully accountable for direct expense budget and capital budget.

Develop a 3–5 year engineering strategy that supports growth, safety, reliability, and innovation, including asset modernization and sustainability initiatives.

Act as primary engineering SME and thought partner across cross‑functional teams, including Supply Chain, R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Commercial.

Drive operational excellence using Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem‑solving tools; develop KPIs to track and enhance team performance.

Lead commercialization efforts by partnering with R&D and Technology Development teams to scale new products from lab to full production to support revenue growth.

Ensure engineering systems and infrastructure meet safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance standards.

Hire, train, coach and develop team of engineers and engineering managers, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals and objectives.

Collaborate with third‑party manufacturing and contract partners to ensure consistency in process, scale‑up, and technical transfer execution.

Application and adherence to all quality standards, cGMP, and GLP requirements. Manage team to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including EPA, OSHA, and environmental regulations.

Communication with multi-disciplinary teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

BS in Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.

10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering or process development, preferably in regulated industries such as agriculture, animal health, chemical, or life sciences.

Experience managing large‑scale capital projects, leading cross‑functional engineering teams, and driving performance through KPI accountability.

Demonstrated success in strategy development, execution of engineering programs, and collaboration across functions and locations.

Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma manufacturing principles, cGMP quality standards and EPA regulations preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The primary working environment is an office, complete with Engineering tools such as a computer, CAD/CAM software, Preventive Maintenance software, Facility Monitoring software, data analysis tools and measuring devices.

The secondary environment will be the Facility grounds and buildings, seminar classroom, or off‑site, third‑party facilities.
