Position Description Responsible to Chief Executive Officer.

Position Overview The Program Director is a full‑time, salaried position. Responsibilities fall in the categories of mentoring, academic coaching, and program development. We are seeking an individual to lead effective After‑School and Summer Programs for elementary, middle, and high school‑aged students. This position will provide emotional, spiritual, and behavioral support to students while acting as a liaison to the school, home, and community setting.

Position Focus The Program Director reports to RedZone Memphis Executive Director (or designee) to implement planning, coordination, and implementation of RedZone’s program. The Director is expected to promote and develop outreach efforts among urban young people, particularly in Orange Mound. The Director is also responsible to equip, enable, and empower staff that work for Red Zone Ministries.

Specific Tasks Direct Ministry

Manage and facilitate a regular club.

Facilitate a weekly bible study or discipleship group.

Intentionalize holistic efforts in the Orange Mound community.

Network with churches, para‑church and other entities.

Leadership Development

Network with potential partners.

Recruit and nurture donors and potential donors.

Intentionalize marketing of RZ ministry.

Mass communication; mailings.

Seminars/public speaking.

Attend mission fairs/conference as appropriate.

Supervise ministry staff.

Accountability to mission strategy and vision.

Manage efficiency of staff: reporting, monitoring, outcomes.

Individualize goal setting and attainment.

Hire/Fire staff.

Relationship with Board

Present at all RedZone board meetings and work with various committees at Executive Director’s discretion.

Representing Red Zone in the Community

Speak to various groups, e.g., churches and community organizations, regarding the ministry.

Cultivate relationships and develop new contacts with individuals, groups, or churches in the community.

Fundraising development responsibilities under the direction of the Executive Director & Board of Directors.
