JR-114264**Location:**Rosedale Office Building**Department:**Corporate Compliance**Shift:**First Shift (United States of America)**Standard Weekly Hours:**40**Summary:**Additional Job DescriptionThe Senior Compliance Specialist, working with the Vice President of Compliance, will assist with the compliance program activities of the organization. This individual supports the planning, education, assessments, testing/monitoring and other compliance program functions including any existing compliance activities and will primarily focus on physician relationships, conflicts of interest, interactions with industry, risk assessments, and clinical/billing compliance.
May also assist with such activities as policy and procedure development and maintenance, hotline monitoring and compliance complaint investigations, interfacing with the HIM department, reviewing Business Associate Agreements and overseeing relationships with Business Associates, and other HIPAA-related privacy and security functions.**Qualifications:*** Bachelor’s degree required. Master's preferred.* Bachelor’s degree should be in business related field, but can be in health related field.* Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years experience in health care compliance and demonstrated expertise in the areas of billing/coding and data analytics.**Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:**Individual needs health care experience, preferably in the compliance area. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
This individual will have reporting responsibilities that require routine use of software packages such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel.**Recommended Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification*** Certification in billing and/or coding by either AAPC or AHIMA strongly preferred.* Compliance certification by HCCA could be considered an appropriate substitute under the right circumstances.**Cook Children's Health Care System**Cook Children's Health Care System offers a unique approach to caring for children because we are one of the country's leading integrated pediatric health care delivery organizations.
