Job Description: The Director of IT manages the business’s technology infrastructure, leads IT staff, and oversees daily operations of the IT department in a WAN/LAN and cloud environment. This role ensures systems are secure, scalable, and efficient, covering network security, data center management, data processing, systems and network administration, equipment and software purchases, and telecommunications infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure fluency in corporate IT standards and communicate them to the business
Develop and manage IT department staff performance
Plan, design, and implement changes to the WAN/LAN network infrastructure, including data centers
Manage cybersecurity, including infrastructure updates and patches, ensuring proactive protection
Establish and enforce network security, acting as a gatekeeper for developers and engineers
Oversee troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, disaster recovery, and provide expert support
Oversee help desk activities and respond to escalated issues, providing Level 3 technical support for the Engineering group
Manage the development of internal and external web sites
Handle Internet DNS provisioning and domain name procurement
Provide DBA support for backend databases for financial systems, web sites, and intranet sites
Maintain security badge systems and facility access rights
Build and maintain vendor relationships, manage hardware, software, and telecommunications purchases, and ensure responsible asset inventory
Coordinate upgrades to telecommunications systems and oversee changes
Advise managers on IT trends, technical problems, equipment needs, system upgrades, and recommend cost-effective solutions
Communicate with internal users to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions, seeking opportunities to increase satisfaction
Continuously seek improvements in internal IT processes and implement solutions
Skills in SQL for monitoring performance data, identifying security threats, and improving operational efficiency
Requirements For Consideration
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and/or Network Related Certifications
10 years of network management and computer systems experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Strong technical knowledge of network and systems administration, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, and enterprise software
Experience in managing cybersecurity infrastructure
Proficient in managing routers, switches, and both on-premises and cloud-based/data center infrastructure
Experience in day-to-day IT support of a technology business and staff management
Strong problem-solving, project, and process management skills
High-level thinker, team leader, and hands-on approach
Proven track record in managing corporate standards
Excellent service orientation with effective interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
Compensation Employee Type: Salaried
Salary Minimum: $150,000
Salary Maximum: $180,000
