HR BP Team Role Overview
The Head of HR Business Partnering is responsible for the HRBP function across the United States, acting as a critical link between enterprise strategy and people execution. This role ensures that HR Business Partners operate as true strategic advisors to the business, driving performance, organizational effectiveness, workforce strategy, and leadership capability. This role will help to build out an HRBP model that delivers an outstanding support and advisory service to the stakeholders across the firm. Key Responsibilities
HRBP Function Develop and coach a team of HR Business Partners supporting multiple business units across the US. Define and evolve the HRBP operating model, accountabilities, and ways of working. Ensure consistent, high-quality HR partnership across regions, functions, and leadership levels – both legal and business services. Build HRBP capability in business acumen, data literacy, and organizational consulting. Organizational Effectiveness & Change Work with the HRLT to form an optimal operating model to maximise business support. Workforce & Performance Management Oversee performance management frameworks and ensure consistency across the US. Guide stakeholders on productivity, capability gaps, and workforce optimization. Use people analytics to identify trends in retention, engagement, and performance. Employee Relations & Risk Oversight Provide senior oversight on complex employee relations, compliance, and workforce risk issues. Ensure HRBPs manage matters consistently and in line with employment law and company policy Collaboration with HR Centers of Excellence Act as the voice of the business to HR COEs (Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, L&D, DEI, HR Operations). Ensure firmwide programs are adopted effectively within business units. Required Experience & Qualifications
12-15+ years of progressive HR experience Significant experience guiding and developing HR Business Partner teams in legal or professional services organizations. Demonstrated success partnering with senior business execs on strategy and transformation. Strong background in organizational design, change leadership, and workforce strategy.
