
OVERVIEW
Marc JacobsInternational, powered by the creative genius of Marc Jacobs, seeks a Senior Analyst, Global Sales Merchandising to join the Global Sales Merchandising team based in its New York City (SoHo) headquarters. This role is crucial for shaping our global product offerings, ensuring they align with our brand's vision while resonating with diverse market demands. You will directly impact sales growth and inventory efficiency by optimizing our in-store merchandising strategies.
RESPONSIBILITIES Sales & Inventory Performance Reporting:
Maintain weekly reporting to monitor sales performance giving visibility to each store and the product performance.
Maintain weekly sell‑through reporting.
Execute in‑depth studies of product and/or store performance to better understand store/market trends.
Create seasonal hindsight reviews that report on past performance and project future needs and trends; present these findings to the buying and merchandising teams on a quarterly basis.
Analyze sales and inventory across channels to execute a strategic full‑price, markdown, and outlet liquidation plan that maximizes the sell‑through and margin.
Define category sales targets to align with growth strategies.
Define pricing actions, communicate these to stores and cross‑functional partners, and update all systems.
Store Relationships:
Ensure regular communications with stores and build strong relationships with regional and store managers through visits, communication, and performance sharing.
Work closely with the training team to align on product training needs and selling ceremony needs.
Ensure all weekly store reports are accurate and published in a timely manner.
Optimize seasonal best‑seller inventory, ensuring maximum sell‑through and peak sales performance.
Competitive Awareness:
Maintain awareness of the competitive environment through regular market visits and competitor studies, focusing on trends, pricing, and in‑store initiatives.
Ensure HQ is apprised of significant competitive activities through reporting and regular communication.
Provide in‑market feedback on assortments, including strengths of offerings, product gaps, and pricing call‑outs.
Cross functional activities:
Partner across functions (Marketing, Training, Visual Merchandising, CRM, Retail, etc.) to provide information regarding product initiatives and the retail environment.
Partner with Visual Merchandising teams to support seasonal in‑store statements that align with corporate directives and seasonal focus:
Ensure capacities and zoning are respected by door level.
Highlight focus items.
Support best and worst sellers with corporately agreed‑upon strategy.
Align on product and presentation for events and promotions.
Partner with Planning, Buying, and Allocation teams to ensure correct purchase volume by location and division; provide feedback on network updates and each location’s individual needs.
Support events with product plans and follow‑up:
Devise product flow plan for events.
Support logistical timing of product delivery and/or removal.
Support product training with seasonal information and assortment details for North America buys.
QUALIFICATIONS
4‑5 years of experience in merchandise, retail, and/or business planning.
Demonstrated retail math and business acumen.
Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook.
Experience in PowerBI, MicroStrategy, AX, Wasabi, (and Anaplan is a plus).
Conceptual and strategic thinker who recognizes opportunities, recommends strategies by building business cases, and influences senior leaders to move to execution.
Highly organized with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills; ability to present complex material in an organized and compelling manner.
Ability to develop effective relationships to achieve financial and merchandising solutions based on analysis, input, and experience.
Salary & Benefits / What We Offer
The compensation for this position ranges from $70,000 – $80,000 (annually). The rate of pay offered will depend on the candidate’s relevant skills and experience.
