
Overview
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients who come in, either as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions. The ENTRY PSR I helps with patient care by greeting patients upon arrival and answering questions or concerns with care and compassion. This individual will also help maintain the integrity of the waiting area and assist with breaks when other Phlebotomists are unavailable. This role includes training on Phlebotomy skills to grow within the company and to perform with confidence both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
Responsibilities
Represent the face of the company to patients and support a welcoming, trustworthy environment.
Greet patients on arrival and address questions or concerns with care and compassion.
Maintain the integrity of the waiting area and assist with breaks when other Phlebotomists are unavailable.
Receive training on Phlebotomy skills and progress within the company.
Explain what patients can expect regarding scheduled procedures in a safe and accurate manner.
Demonstrate excellence in customer care with focus on process skills and confidentiality of patient information.
Maintain the lobby’s integrity and ensure patients receive the level of service expected.
Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.
Maintain a safe and professional environment and keep required records and documentation.
Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public, with a willingness to learn new skills.
Once Phlebotomy skills are obtained, perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED
Minimum of 1-2 years of client-facing customer service REQUIRED (Retail, Home Health Aide, etc).
Keyboard/data entry experience required
Customer service experience required
Candidates must be within a 20-25 minute commute window to ensure ability to travel to/from the site for coverage
Willingness to learn Phlebotomy skills when there is downtime or breaks that need to be covered
Ability to handle patients with care and compassion while assisting with check-ins in the lobby via self-service kiosk or handheld tablet
This is a "Front of House" role that will also train the candidate on Phlebotomy skills
Shift/Time Zone: Monday–Friday 6am-3pm; Saturdays may be part of a Saturday rotation once in the PSR I role
