Overview

Molex is seeking a highly motivated and proactive Sales Engineer to join our accomplished sales team in Southern California. In this role, the Sales Engineer will oversee designated business units within this client account and assume responsibility for driving profitable growth by generating new demand and maintaining existing business. This position offers significant autonomy and serves as the primary liaison between Molex and the customer, providing education regarding the value Molex delivers. The Sales Engineer will also collaborate with various internal stakeholders, including members of the Global Sales & Marketing team, Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance, to ensure effective support and service.

Responsibilities

Become a subject matter expert on Molex capabilities and product portfolio

Develop and maintain strong relationships with technical and commercial influencers at the customer and internally

Manage assigned portfolio to achieve revenue/profit growth targets and demand creation pipeline goals

Track and document these actions and results in our Customer Relationship Management tool

Identify strategic business opportunities and present business cases to internal stakeholders to gain the necessary support to execute

Track revenue and profitability of the assigned portfolio and ensure the business is captured accurately across all Molex systems

Skills & Abilities

Self-motivated and curious with entrepreneurial spirit to successfully prioritize own workload with minimal direct supervision

Prioritize and focus on highest ROI actions throughout assigned customer base and distribution partners

Time management and ability to address multiple priorities simultaneously

Agile engagements with multiple types of end applications

Understanding of customer needs and effectively sell solutions to both the customer and supporting Molex Business Units

Strong interpersonal skills to expand professional networks within the customer base

Build strategic customer and distributor relationships across a broad span of roles to maximize Molex’s ability to win business

High understanding of the multiple facets within electronics industry and market segments in which Molex contributes

Ability to map complex technical requirements to capabilities and products and develop a customer engagement strategy

Organization, attention to detail, and timely follow-through

Communicate effectively both remotely and face-to-face

Skill to work through ambiguity to deliver the desired outcome

Strong team cooperation skills; Team player

Experience You Will Bring

Bachelor’s Degree

Customer facing experience in a sales/account manager or equivalent technical sales role

Experience in applying a vast set of product knowledge to include a high-level understanding of design and application to address customer needs

Experience in managing sales within an intricate, multi-unit support structure to include product leaders and commercial excellence capabilities

What Will Put You Ahead

Experience calling on OEMs, with a proven track record of design wins

Prior experience in electronics industry

Prior experience working with distribution channels to partner in complex opportunities

For this role, we anticipate paying $95,000 - $125,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
