Job Description: The Retail Banker I is a customer liaison that is integral to delivering TD’s Brand promise by utilizing financial expertise and consultative advice to assist Customers with their banking solutions/needs. This role contributes to the achievement of business objectives that enable growth through identifying appropriate TD solutions that help Customers achieve their financial goals and optimize their relationship with TD.

Responsibilities

Proficient in products, services and routine transactions to educate Customers on Bank products and services and refer them to the appropriate team member or internal partners while ensuring a positive Customer experience.

Demonstrates broad knowledge of the full product suite and processes; activities are low to moderate complexity/risk.

Establishes and nurtures Customer relationships by displaying product knowledge, listening to Customer needs, and offering additional solutions or referrals.

Makes product recommendations based on Customer needs and highlights features and benefits to support Customers through life events, save time and money, and exceed needs.

Uses Customer relationship management tools to proactively identify solutions and lead-focused outbound activities.

Independently resolves customer issues and escalates when necessary.

Builds working relationships with customers and explains detailed or complicated information.

Participates in Customer outreach, servicing and advice activities to deliver TD’s customer experience commitments.

Engages in conversations about loan products and facilitates application intake.

Maintains an active registration status with NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry).

Education & Experience

HS Diploma or GED

1+ years' experience working with customers and/or sales in any capacity or equivalent demonstrated through volunteering, education, military experience (preferred).

Teller experience (preferred)

Must complete teller training upon hire to take customer transactions

Ability to engage customers in conversations while educating them on products and services

Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Excellent communication skills; concise, clear and consistent

Ability to schedule and prioritize work; work independently and within deadlines

Sound judgment and effective problem solving

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Notary License (Preferred)

Customer Accountabilities

Delivers Legendary experience by helping customers, building relationships, and delivering service and advice.

Supports the Bank's Customer Service Strategy by providing end-to-end advice, consultative support, and proactive insights.

Advocates for customers with proactive tips and savings opportunities.

Guides customer flow in the store and educates on self-service options that meet needs.

May act as a point of escalation for customer questions or concerns.

Performs teller transactions as needed while monitoring for fraud and adhering to policies.

Acts as a brand ambassador and educates clients on digital channels.

Shareholder & Employee/Team Accountabilities

Ensures compliance with Bank Secrecy Act / Patriot Act requirements and risk controls.

Participates in store operations consistent with TD's risk framework and policies.

Completes necessary documentation accurately and reflects client intentions.

Supports operational excellence and adheres to risk and control policies.

Contributes to a positive, diverse, and inclusive work environment; acts as a brand ambassador.

Engages in ongoing development, knowledge sharing, and performance conversations.

Collaborates with partner bankers for effective referrals and team success.

OCC Language

This position falls within the definition of Loan Originator under Regulation Z and Mortgage Loan Originator definitions under the SAFE Act.

Must be eligible for employment with a covered financial institution under Regulation Z.

Must be eligible for registration as a registered mortgage loan originator with the NMLS.

Requires satisfactory results on a criminal background check and a credit report, and related disclosures as required by law.

Physical Requirements Physical demands align with typical office work and listed activities, including sedentary work, lifting up to 25 lbs, and frequenting standing or walking as described in the role description.
