G-Town Arts & Cultural Center is a contemporary art gallery and cultural space in Georgetown seeking a reliable, motivated
Gallery, Studio & Personal Assistant
to join our small team. This role offers hands-on experience in gallery operations, art handling, exhibition installation, and studio support. It is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or current art student seeking real-world experience in the contemporary art field.
Responsibilities
Welcoming and engaging visitors
Maintaining a clean, organized, and secure gallery environment
Assisting with exhibition openings, events, and programs
Proper handling, packing, installation, and de-installation of artworks
Tracking consignments and inventory
Delivering and picking up artwork
Assisting with social media posting and documentation
Supporting studio organization and upkeep
Assisting with the preparation of works for exhibition and shipping
Helping with occasional personal errands and tasks
Qualifications
Quick learner with strong multitasking skills
Interest in contemporary art and art history (experience helpful but not required)
Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable
Ability to lift and carry artworks and supplies (up to ~40 lbs)
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
Previous gallery experience is a plus.
Pay based upon experience.
Schedule
Friday, Saturday & Sunday
Saturdays: 11:00–4/6 pm
Sundays 10:00–2:00 pm
Friday hours vary based on gallery needs and events
