Overview

The Supported Employment Specialist provides individualized employment support to individuals with disabilities receiving services through the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA). This role focuses on helping participants obtain, maintain, and advance in competitive, integrated employment through person-centered planning, job development, job coaching, and ongoing employer engagement. Key Responsibilities

Client Support & Case Management Provide individualized supported employment services to GVRA consumers in accordance with their Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE) Conduct intake, assessments, and vocational evaluations to identify strengths, interests, abilities, and support needs Develop and implement customized employment strategies using person-centered and evidence-based practices Maintain consistent communication with consumers to support job readiness, placement, and retention Job Development & Placement Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with local employers to secure competitive, integrated employment opportunities Assist consumers with job search activities, including applications, resumes, interview preparation, and workplace expectations Match consumers with appropriate employment opportunities based on skills, preferences, and support needs Coordinate job placement and onboarding activities with employers and GVRA counselors Job Coaching & Employment Retention Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and support to help consumers learn job tasks and adapt to workplace environments Support the development of natural workplace supports and fading of job coaching as appropriate Monitor job performance and intervene proactively to address challenges that may impact job retention Assist consumers with career advancement and long-term employment stability Collaboration & Documentation Work closely with GVRA counselors, employers, families, and other service providers to ensure coordinated services Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with GVRA policies and contract requirements Submit required reports, progress notes, and billing documentation by established deadlines Participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development related to supported employment services Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in human services, rehabilitation, psychology, or related field preferred Experience working with individuals with disabilities in employment, vocational, or support service settings preferred Knowledge of supported employment principles and person-centered practices Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills Ability to work independently and in the community Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Preferred Skills

Experience working with GVRA or similar vocational rehabilitation programs Job development, job coaching, or employment counseling experience Familiarity with documentation and compliance requirements for state-funded programs Bilingual abilities (a plus, not required) Work Environment

Community-based position with local travel to employer sites and consumer locations Flexible schedule may include daytime hours and occasional evenings as needed
