Under the general direction of the IT Director & CISO, this position is responsible for serving as the primary point of contact for all IT incidents and requests submitted to the Service Desk. This role provides exceptional customer service while resolving technical issues and managing the lifecycle of all County endpoint devices, including desktops, laptops, and phones. This role is crucial in maintaining both operational efficiency and the county's security posture. The successful candidate will ensure all support activities and device configurations adhere to established policies and best practices, acting as a critical link between the end‑user community and the IT department.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Serve as the primary point of contact for all IT support requests received via phone, email, ticketing system, and in-person visits.

Provide outstanding customer service by responding to user inquiries with professionalism, patience, and a positive attitude.

Log, categorize, prioritize, and track all incidents and service requests in the County’s IT service desk system, ensuring all actions are well-documented.

Provide Tier 1 troubleshooting and timely resolution for issues related to computer hardware, software, printers, network connectivity, and accounts.

Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate senior IT staff (Engineers, Administrators) in a timely and effective manner, providing clear and concise information.

Provision, configure, and deploy new desktops, laptops, phones, and tablets using standard imaging and mobile device management (MDM) tools.

Install, configure, and troubleshoot County-approved software applications and Windows operating systems.

Manage the lifecycle of endpoint hardware, including maintaining an accurate inventory (asset management), coordinating repairs, and preparing equipment for surplus.

Ensure all endpoints are compliant with County security policies, including the proper functioning of disk encryption, antivirus/EDR software, and timely system patching.

Perform user account administration tasks, including password resets and account unlocks, following strict identity verification procedures to maintain security.

Assist with user onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring the timely provisioning and removal of access and equipment.

Educate users on IT security best practices and County policies during support interactions to help foster a security-conscious culture.

Performs other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. One (1) to three (3) years of experience in a customer-facing technical support or help desk role. Hands-on experience with troubleshooting Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace applications. A proven track record of providing excellent customer service.

Category Information Systems Status Open Hiring Incentive Pay: This position is eligible for hiring incentive pay in the amount of $5,000.00 ($2,500.00 after six months in position; $2,500.00 after two years in position).
