Mechanical Designer

As a

Mechanical Designer , you will support mechanical system design from concept through final construction documents. You’ll prepare drawings, perform design calculations, develop HVAC and piping layouts, and collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with codes and client expectations. This role is essential to maintaining the precision, clarity, and technical excellence that define our work. WHAT YOU WILL DO

Support Mechanical Design

Prepare mechanical design drawings and construction documents from concept through final design Develop HVAC, hydronic, and piping system layouts aligned with project requirements and codes Draft and size ductwork and piping systems with accuracy and efficiency Perform mechanical design calculations, including heating/cooling loads and ventilation requirements Select mechanical equipment based on performance, efficiency, and project criteria Coordinate HVAC equipment selections with vendors (preferred) Drafting & Documentation

Produce plans, sections, details, and schedules using Revit and occasionally AutoCAD Apply strong Revit proficiency to maintain modeling accuracy and efficiency Participate in a required

Revit skills assessment

during the hiring process Maintain organized project files and adhere to firm drafting standards Revise drawings based on internal reviews, client comments, and permitting feedback Work closely with project managers and engineers to support design development Participate in internal quality control reviews Contribute to a multidisciplinary MEP design environment Support Construction Administration

Prepare responses to RFIs for engineer review during construction Conduct field visits and site observations to verify installation progress and design compliance Review submittals and shop drawings Assist with energy modeling data preparation and system performance documentation (experience preferred) Support LEED documentation when required (experience preferred) Deliver High‑Quality Work

Manage assigned tasks to meet project schedules and deadlines Apply firm drafting standards and best practices consistently Uphold company quality, safety, and professional standards Perform other duties, tasks, and special projects as assigned QUALIFICATIONS

Associate’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field (equivalent experience considered) 5+ years of mechanical design experience within an MEP consulting or engineering firm (HVAC, including ductwork and piping sizing and drafting) Proficiency in

Revit is required Proficiency in

AutoCAD is a plus Familiarity with MEP‑related building codes and regulations Ability to perform basic mechanical design calculations and interpret engineering specifications Experience coordinating HVAC equipment selections with vendors is a plus Energy modeling experience is a plus LEED documentation experience is a plus Valid Texas Driver’s License with acceptable MVR and ability to pass a background check Candidates with strong mechanical design experience are encouraged to apply, even if they do not meet every listed requirement. #J-18808-Ljbffr
