Overview
Join the web team in the Communications Office of the Office of the New York State Comptroller to help write and manage content for the agency’s public-facing website, osc.ny.gov. Incumbent will create, edit and review web pages to ensure content meets agency’s editorial, accessibility and design standards; help build and edit page templates and web forms; perform QA testing on new features, bug fixes and system upgrades for the website; and assist in special projects that improve the customer experience for external or internal audiences. Minimum Qualifications
Six years of experience in public relations, social media, and digital communications OR Associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in communications, English, Public Relations, Social Media, Digital Communications, or similar degree, substitutions for two, four, or five years Additional Qualifications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills An understanding of digital technologies, web/UX design and accessibility Experience with website management and content management systems Exceptional interpersonal skills Excellent attention to detail Experience with website analytics and SEO Telecommuting
The Office of the New York State Comptroller (OSC) supports telecommuting where it is reasonable to do so based upon the agency’s mission and operational needs. Generally, employees new to OSC will be restricted from telecommuting for at least 8 calendar weeks. After the initial 8 calendar week restriction, if an employee’s primary residence location, duties, and work performance are aligned with telecommuting and operational needs they may be allowed to do so.
