
Overview
Under general supervision, is responsible for promoting the programs, services and events provided by the City of San Antonio by performing professional level marketing using a full range of incentive tools and programs as well as marketing and promotional techniques. Working conditions are primarily in an office environment. Exercises no supervision.
Work Location 100 W Houston St. Locations will vary from various locations in San Antonio with assignments being subject to change based on departmental needs.
Work Hours 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Monday - Friday. Shifts are subject to change to accommodate seasonal adjustments, evening coverage, weekends, and holiday shiftwork based on department needs.
Responsibilities
Promotes, coordinates and markets programs, services and events provided by the City of San Antonio.
Researches, analyzes and monitors promotional strategies and marketing trends.
Serves as liaison between city departments and external customers by fostering a positive, professional image.
Develops and implements public relations, advertising, promotional and social media strategies in collaboration with other City departments.
Conducts presentations, tours and public education programs and evaluates effectiveness of programs.
Prepares and maintains performance and statistical reports.
Develops and delivers presentations to City Manager's office, boards, committees, etc.
Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with public relations, media pitching and facilitating media responses.
Experience with social media planning and content creation.
Experience with storytelling utilizing photography and video.
Experience with copywriting for diverse audiences
Experience with event coordination
Applicant Information
Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
