
Protect company assets by effectively executing safety, inventory recovery and theft reduction programs. Assist with reducing lost inventory, time, and assets and monitor surveillance equipment and systems. Identify, observe and apprehend shoplifters and others (internal or external) involved in criminal activity impacting the company. Support district Asset Protection (AP) managers in the implementation and oversight of AP initiatives. Responsibilities
Conduct plainclothes surveillance to detect internal and external loss within a store environment
Conduct internal and external investigations and report findings to appropriate stakeholders; apprehend individuals involved in illegal acts
Assist in recruiting, screening, selection, training and scheduling of AP specialists in conjunction with district AP managers
Coach and provide feedback/skill development support for AP specialists and provide input on performance reviews
Review AP case management system entries weekly for completion, accuracy and integrity; coach AP specialists on reporting and decision making
Work closely with the organized retail crime (ORC) investigator to identify training opportunities for AP specialists related to identifying booster activity and conducting booster interviews
Comply with all federal, state and local laws, as well as company policies and procedures
Identify/resolve conditions and behaviors that affect shrink, safety and profitability by auditing for compliance and communicating awareness
Conduct physical security checks; make recommendations to prevent loss and improve profitability
Partner with law enforcement and prepare case reports for criminal prosecution and complete thorough reports on all AP related activities; testify in court and labor hearings on behalf of the company
Serve as a district and division liaison to identify and develop solutions and heightened awareness of asset protection opportunities
Support district AP managers in the execution of asset protection initiatives
Ensure the implementation and effectiveness of asset protection strategies at store level
Test functionality of store asset protection equipment (EAS, Lane Hawk, CCTV, etc.) during store visits
Travel to locations throughout the division and maintain ability to work a varied schedule and on weekends
Physical demands include, but are not limited to, frequently standing and/or walking for long periods of time
Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
Qualifications Minimum
High School Diploma or GED
2+ years of retail AP experience
Demonstrated ability to train others and maintain integrity, honesty and professionalism
Ability to diffuse confrontational situations
Exceptional customer service skills
Excellent oral/written communication skills
