Job Title Specialty Gas Sales Specialist (Open)

Overview Airgas is hiring a Specialty Gas Sales Specialist in Hillsboro, OR. The role focuses on driving revenue growth and market share within the Semiconductor and Microelectronics vertical by leveraging technical knowledge of ultra‑high purity gases and delivery systems to support the stringent requirements of Front‑End‑of‑Line (FEOL) and Back‑End‑of‑Line (BEOL) processes.

Responsibilities

Adhere to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment.

Foster a positive work atmosphere by actively building strong relationships with customers, vendors, co‑workers, and management.

Increase sales and profit margin of specialty and bulk gases and related products such as safety and gas controls by penetrating assigned accounts and prospecting new customers.

Build strong relationships with all branch and operations personnel to create open communication with Airgas associates and managers to grow and support business.

Develop sales objectives and strategies for the territory and recommend appropriate action.

Achieve profitable sales targets in the assigned territory through sales of all products, related gas handling and safety equipment.

May provide customer specific safety training in compressed gas handling and cryogenics.

Demonstrate and sell the advantages of Airgas specialty gas products and Airgas engineered solutions to potential customers.

Represent the company's product lines to prospects and existing local and national customers.

Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate specialty gas products to fulfill those needs.

Prepare quotations and negotiate pricing with current and prospective customers.

Address customer inquiries and complaints to ensure a satisfactory resolution.

Prepare required reports and maintain expense accounts in accordance with corporate compliance.

Maintain customer account information, contacts, and opportunities in Salesforce.

Stay updated with the latest developments in semiconductor electronics, specialty gas products and related applications.

Participate in product knowledge and vendor training to present new products to customers to increase their awareness of our market segments.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business management, chemical or mechanical engineering or related degree field preferred. In lieu of degree, consideration for up to four years of additional related experience may be accepted.

A minimum of four years of prior sales experience to include proven experience and success in solution‑selling concepts and a demonstrated history in the Semiconductor Electronics vertical highly recommended.

Must possess a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and appropriate level of auto insurance coverage.

Ability to work flexible hours to meet management expectations.

Must be able to operate in a drug‑free workplace.

Preferred Qualifications

Must have proficient computer skills using Google systems, Gemini, and CRM systems, including Salesforce.

Proven success in consultative selling, including the ability to perform customer segmentation, prioritize high‑value targets, and apply knowledge of customer business, industry, and macro/microeconomic trends to identify new opportunities.

Must interact professionally across all organizational levels and possess excellent written, oral communication, listening, and presentation skills.

Highly organized, analytical, and self‑motivated self‑starter who operates with urgency, can work independently, and possesses the ability to solve complex, practical problems in non‑standardized situations.
