Field Safety Sales Specialist (Open) – San Jose, CA Location: San Jose, CA - Hobson - Retail shop Airgas is hiring for a Field Safety Sales Specialist in San Jose, CA. Salary Range: 85-95K plus commission. Recruiter: Matt McCain / matt.mccain@airgas.com / 470-234-2065 Responsibilities

Manage and grow Airgas business within the San Jose market and surrounding areas (Hayward to Salinas). Meet and exceed corporate and regional objectives for sales growth, profitability growth, and A/R management within the assigned territory. Sell all Airgas products to the customer base. Adhere to and assure compliance with the Code of Conduct/Handbook, policies and procedures, and all applicable rules and standards. Develop and execute regional company-specific sales and marketing plans. Acquire new and competitive accounts with emphasis on profit margin. Review regional sales goals and gross profit margins; monitor effectiveness of sales and marketing efforts. Maintain clear and consistent communication with internal departments regarding customer successes, failures, developments and information. Travel throughout the assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers. Identify and qualify prospective customers and keep the direct manager informed. Interpret customer needs and make recommendations to increase sales opportunities. Research and analyze market data to determine new customers, sales potential and pricing; develop a strategy to meet sales targets. Support other sales representatives in developing and maintaining safety product sales through coaching, training and presentations. Qualifications

Ability to multitask in a high-volume setting. Strong analytical and verbal/written communication skills. Team-oriented with a continuous improvement outlook. Mathematical proficiency (add, subtract, multiply, divide; fractions to decimals). Proficient computer skills; working knowledge of Excel, SAP, Salesforce; Google Workspace a plus. Professional presence and demeanor aligned with a corporate office environment. High energy, self-starter with strong customer service and relationship orientation. Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and time management skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials; ability to write routine business reports and correspondence; present information effectively. Ability to travel overnight for onsite meetings within the territory. Education, Experiences, Certificates/Licenses and/or Registrations: High School Diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of related outside sales. Knowledge of safety products and services desired. Proven change management skills (sponsorship, communications, stakeholder management). Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle with insurance as required. QSSP, OSHA 30 certification is a plus. Work Environment and Safety Equipment

May require sitting/standing for long periods; ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities: close, color, peripheral; ability to adjust focus. Noise level: moderate to noisy; may be exposed to extreme weather. Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
