POS Consultant . Start : ASAP Location : Remote (occasional travel to Dusseldorf) Language : German and English Duration : 12 months + extension Responsibilities
Support in ensuring the stable and efficient operation of all
cash handling hardware
components in the checkout environment. This role combines in-depth hardware know-how (hands-on experience, repairs, and upgrades) with operational process understanding in retail stores and
POS
systems. The goal is to reduce malfunctions, identify hardware root causes, optimize wear parts management, and advise on hardware improvements and cost-efficient store practices. Qualifications
Technical Hardware Competence (Hands-On): Experience with cash payment hardware environments Ability to physically open devices, identify components, clean, calibrate – and find optimization potential / possible causes of errors Knowledge of typical wear parts and malfunctions / error situations Implementation / best practices for minor hardware upgrades (e.g., cleaning mechanisms, sensor adjustments, feeding mechanisms) Analysis of error patterns, derivation of possible hardware improvements Operational Excellence & Store Alignment: Coordination with store operations regarding roles, processes, and "two-step" solutions (what cashiers can do themselves, what they cannot) Derivation of best practices for service providers, including a clear definition of responsibilities Evaluation of how store behavior impacts the business case (e.g., correct maintenance & cleaning processes) Stakeholder and Partner Management: Ability to challenge manufacturers technically (360°: hardware, wear parts, lifecycle, Design improvements) Close coordination with technical service providers and facility partners Development of recommendations for strategic hardware optimizations If you are interested and available, please send your CV for immediate consideration.
