Responsibilities

As a Product Designer, you’ll combine your craft expertise with an understanding of our customers and the business to co-create innovative solutions to complex problems.

Demonstrate Product Design Expertise across interaction, visual and service design to elevate the quality and maturity of the design practice at Capital One; collaborate with cross-functional partners, use appropriate tools, platforms, frameworks and design systems, and work with teams to create artifacts such as journey maps, blueprints, high-fidelity designs and prototypes.

Apply Human-Centered approaches by using data, research insights and creative problem-solving to support customer-centered design decisions across projects.

Align with Business-Focused goals by understanding your product, processes and partner goals to bridge gaps between customer-centered solutions and business needs.

Engage in Problem-Solving by gathering feedback, understanding technology and data capabilities, and considering emerging technologies to inform work and navigate technical limitations.

Foster Collaboration by building relationships with cross-functional partners and continuously identifying opportunities to collaborate, incorporating diverse perspectives to elevate project work and build trust.

Communicate effectively by presenting work to diverse audiences with a human-centered approach, incorporating meaningful evidence and clearly articulating decisions.

The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio demonstrating their process, results, and impact.

Qualifications Basic Qualifications

At least 2 years of experience in a Product Design role

At least 2 years of experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with an established design system

Experience collaborating with product, tech and business partners

Experience working in heavily regulated, data heavy problem spaces

Salary and Benefits The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. Salaries are provided for candidates hired to perform work within one of the listed locations.

McLean, VA: $111,200 - $126,900 for Sr. Associate, Design

New York, NY: $121,300 - $138,400 for Sr. Associate, Design

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
