What You Will Do In this vital role you will lead insights generation by integrating multiple secondary data sources and engaging several Commercial Data and Analytics (CD&A) colleagues to develop a comprehensive understanding of the obesity market and provide tactical recommendations to drive it. The ability to clearly present and communicate findings and recommendations to Senior Leadership is essential. Flexible commuter role to Thousand Oaks, CA Amgen site. You will work on-site a minimum of 3 days a week.
Develop positive relationships while working cross-functionally with marketing, finance, the broader CD&A team, and other partners to develop and communicate assumptions based on secondary data analysis and partner input
Provide senior leadership with an objective and rigorous perspective on secondary data analytics and performance management
Lead the production and interpretation of data for standard reports (e.g., weekly important metric dashboard, monthly tracking, etc.)
With limited supervision, provide analytical support to the cross-functional team supporting general medicine
Prepare, interpret and present analyses on specific business objectives and in preparation for ad hoc investigative requests
Ensure applicable legal and regulatory compliance SOPs are understood by and adhered to by yourself, vendors, and product teams
Be a great partner with external vendors and consultants to enable effective and efficient project completion
Demonstrate ownership of relevant general medicine data sets, encouraging confidence in the data through a clear understanding of data collection methods, business rules and caveats
Improve the capabilities of the Commercial Insights team by researching and implementing new analytical tools, methodologies, internal and external best practices, new data sources, etc.

Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree and 3 years of analytics experience
OR Masters degree and 5 years of analytics experience
OR Bachelors degree and 7 years of analytics experience
OR Associates degree and 11 years of analytics experience
OR High school diploma / GED and 13 years of analytics experience
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to onboard data and explore use cases
Adopt AI methodologies and help lead transformation initiatives
Strong ability to uncover and transform insights to commercial actions by analyzing, synthesizing, and integrating various secondary data
Well-versed in developing SME in data, analytics, research, and/or dashboarding & reporting approaches
Varying analytics/consultative skillsets spanning across different disciplines and therapeutic areas
Effectively identify and define business problems, and address through data, analytics, and research
Strong analysis and project management skills to turn unstructured business issues into action plans with meaningful recommendations
Experience managing several leadership stakeholders and delivering on competing priorities
Ability to drive implementation to enhance methodologies and standard processes
Ability to direct and prioritize team supports and resources to complete priorities in a timely manner
Proficient facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Strong oral and written presentation skills, with ability to simplify complex concepts verbally or visually via PPT
Consistently engage and collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape brand strategy and understand risks and opportunities

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $160,771.00 - $198,755.00. Actual salary will vary based on factors including skills, experience, and qualifications. In addition to base salary, Amgen offers a Total Rewards Plan with health and welfare plans, retirement savings, work-life balance, and career development opportunities.
